Afghanistan is a diverse Islamic society rich in resources, often targeted by foreign powers seeking control. The West's portrayal of itself as a liberator of Afghan women, while simultaneously demonizing Islam, reflects a misunderstanding of the culture. True Islam is a community of diverse believers, not defined by territory. Women from various ethnic groups should collaboratively shape their own paths to liberation and self-determination.
