François Xavier Schouppe, S.J. was an eminent theologian of the nineteenth century. His writings primarily explored religious themes, and he authored numerous religious works. He served as a professor of dogmatics and Holy Scripture at several theological institutions and seminaries, including Louvain and Liège. He concluded his career as a spiritual director in seminaries located in the Indian Himalayas.
