Sinistrari served as an advisor to the Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Roman and Universal Inquisition in Rome. He was recognized as an authority on exorcism, detailing the effects of various plants and substances like cubeb, cardamom, ginger, and nutmeg during such rituals. Furthermore, his expertise extended to demonology and the intricate relationships between sins of sexuality, including investigations into individuals accused of relations with demonic entities. These subjects became prominent in later Inquisition proceedings against those accused of witchcraft, with his counsel often directed against perceived enemies of the Roman Catholic Church.
