Passfield Sidney James Webb

Sidney James Webb was a British socialist and economist, instrumental in founding the London School of Economics and an early member of the Fabian Society. He played a key role in drafting the original Clause IV for the Labour Party. His writings, particularly with his wife Beatrice, explored social economics and reform. The Webbs were notably supporters of the Soviet Union, publishing works that offered a positive assessment of the Stalinist regime.
