Elbow strength modelling for digital human models
Authors
More about the book
This doctoral dissertation is focused on all necessary biomechanical steps towards a holistic joint torque based strength model for digital human models using the example of the elbow joint. Based on subject tests, regression equations were derived that predict maximum elbow joint torques for arbitrary force directions in arbitrary postures. Furthermore, differences between single-joint and multi-joint strength conditions were examined to allow for accurate strength prediction. Finally, a general elbow strength prediction model consolidated all results of this dissertation and further literature data to predict maximum joint torques depending on age and gender.
