Managing challenges in a globalized world

International Management is a complex subject with different views on the challenges companies and academics are faced with. Based on the academic work of Manfred Perlitz, five central, interrelated challenges are evaluated: - Globalization - Demographic Change - Strategic Management - Innovation Management - Cultural Differences. Some of these issues were identified by Manfred Perlitz more than 20 years ago. The book presents a collection of articles published between 1985 and 2004 that address these topics which are still of high relevance. In order to show this, several authors were asked to value, reassess, and/or extend his findings. To consider both, the academic and the practical views on these challenges, authors were selected from both areas. So, this book offers students, practitioners as well as scientists an insight into important topics of international management.
