More about the book
For over a decade, the journal “Westküsten-Beobachter” was published in Santiago de Chile. Its target audience were Nazi party members and the habitants of German descent in Chile and neighbouring countries. Based upon newly found sources, this Nazi party journal is in its entirety discussed scientifically for the first time and announced as a useful means of the Nazi regime's foreign policy. This research study impressively shows how and to what extent national-socialists engaged in and organised party political press that reached even distant countries, as in this case Chile. Moreover, this historiografic and cultural scientific survey considers the audience of propaganda and offers alternative perspectives on the interior developments of the German colony in Chile.
