More about the book
The life of Fred Merrick White, an English author born in 1859, reflects a transition from a legal career to a successful writing journey. After his father's imprisonment in the late 1880s, White embraced journalism and fiction, becoming a prolific writer known for his imaginative stories, often featuring scientific themes. His experiences during World War I, particularly with his sons serving in the conflict, deeply influenced his work, including the novel "The Seed of Empire." He spent his later years in Devon, where he continued to write until his death in 1935.
