More about the book
The biography highlights Eggleston's early life in Vevay, Indiana, where illness limited his formal education, leading his father to teach him. He became an ordained Methodist minister in 1856. His residence, Owl's Nest in Lake George, New York, transitioned from a summer retreat to his permanent home and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1971. Eggleston passed away in 1902 at the age of 64.
