In 1947, the Chatterjee family moves to Ahmednagar from Kolkata, only to find that the old city has lost its splendor. They make it their home and the children in the family, Swapan, Sukumar, Ashish and Jayashree, try to adjust in the new city. The book takes you through the children's escapades; from going to picnics with friends, shooting arrows at each other and playing surparambya, to befriending a donkey that went to their school, they have plenty of adventure.
