More about the book

Kate and Gerrit married in 1926 and lived in Chicago. Gerrit heard of an opportunity to purchase a farm in Northern Wisconsin. This news was good-and not so good. Someone had to occupy the farm and Kate didn't want it to be her. But eventually, they agreed it would be best for Kate and the baby to settle there, while Gerrit went back to work in Chicago. When her time came to board the train to her new life, she realized she was going alone. Good neighbors promised to help. A couple years later, they welcomed a new baby girl, and with her, Gerrit, and his shopping list for an operating farm. Over the years, several tragedies impacted this families' lives. Their journey through life will take you on an emotional roller coaster. Anger, fear, joy, love, and forgiveness, all intertwined. The peace and quiet changed school arrangements. This is where the action really begins.
