Here, Baumschlager & Eberle proffer their theories on housing based on the know-how they have gained over the years. They deal with the question of typology, the optimisation problems with regard to area, cost, ecology and energy, social issues, the question of location as well as ground-plans, the relationship between outdoor and indoor living space and quality of cladding. Housing, however, is seen here from a pragmatic as well as a theoretical point of view: a wide variety of buildings and projects by the architects are presented, offering various solutions to the questions raised.
