More about the book
Bamberg was once known as 'the Rome of Germany'. It has had the good fortune to survive the numerous wars fought during its long history. Today the city is considered a European architectural historical monument. In 1993, this impressive area measuring 250 ha was placed under the protection of UNESCO as an international cultural treasure. This makes Bamberg one of 12 sites in Germany and 400 world-wide that have been recognised in this manner
