Dear PhD & Doctoral students, Professors, Research Associates, and Guests, we invite you to the 8th PhD symposium organized by the graduate students of Freie Universität Berlin for the DRS graduate school “Biomedical Sciences.” Since its inception in 2006 by veterinary medicine students, this symposium has expanded significantly, uniting researchers from various biomedical fields, including biology, human and veterinary medicine, and biochemistry. Emphasizing Max Planck's belief in the pursuit of knowledge, this year’s symposium will be conducted in English, offering a platform for students to share their research and foster interdisciplinary collaborations. Participants can present their work through posters or oral presentations in a supportive environment designed to enhance both professional and social skills. A new addition this year is the poster power slam, where presenters will deliver two-minute, two-slide presentations. The event will also feature keynote lectures from esteemed scientists, as well as talks from Profund and Royal Canin. We aim to leverage the experiences of doctoral students to navigate scientific challenges and maintain motivation. After a day of engaging discussions, we invite you to relax at our BBQ, providing a casual setting to network with peers. We look forward to an inspiring and constructive event.
