Kateřina Držková has grown a fascination with a Bulgarian summer resort Albena since 2005: a confrontation with postcard from her grandmother resulted in a passion of collecting transformed into an exhibition project. A sophisticated mix of long-term collected visual material, legends, objective history and personal stories is published as the bibliophile made pictorial book “Albena”. Megalomaniac architecture of seaside resort has its best years behind, but that's why it was necessary to create a modest memorial through almost detective story, spiced up with personal nostalgia and attempt to understand times not so far from now and yet already gone.
