The NewComers

This is an introduction to three important new members of the EU. Seen from a foreigner's viewpoint, the Austrians are often immersed in ignorance, the Finns clouded in mystery and the Swedes buried in misconceptions. The book aims to give a rounded and objective picture of these countries and their cultures, examining how their people behave in social and business situations. It provides background information on the countries' histories, political institutions, infrastructure, economic activity and business practices. Material is included which has been taken from interviews with leading public figures, government ministers, sociologists and authors.
