Otto Rühle, a legendary SPD politician, Marx biographer, and co-founder of the Spartacus League, created a children's book, Tommy's Trip to Mexico, in 1941 during his exile in Mexico with his wife, the author and individual psychologist Alice Rühle-Gerstel. The book was intended to combine Otto's drawings in the style of Viennese arts and crafts with Alice's texts. The outbreak of World War II prevented the publication of Tommy's Trip to Mexico. The book survived only in the form of the original manuscript and is now being published for the first time, along with the illustrated booklet Ajijic.
