Franz Wurm wurde 1926 in Prag geboren. 1939 floh er nach England und studierte in Oxford Germanistik und Romanistik. Später ging er nach Zürich und begann Gedichte zu schreiben. Wurm, ein enger Freund von Paul Celan, arbeitete auch als Übersetzer. 'Dirzulande' versammelt sein gesamtes lyrisches Werk von 1954 bis 1989.
