More about the book
Reviews agro-food policies in Hungary between 1986 and 1992, dealing especially with the transition to a market economy begun in 1989. It is the first such review of a non-OECD country. It covers the process of privatisation and restructuring of the agriculture and food sectors, new agricultural trading arrangements, and support policies. Together with extensive background data, it provides indicators of support levels to Hungarian agriculture, using OECD's Producer Subsidy Equivalent methodology.
