More about the book

A 120 page black & white duotone photographic book measuring 8.5" x 11". Twelve pages are in sepia & blue tints, creating an unusual modern presence to the book as one moves from one tonal quality to another. Castro's early influences are reflected in the appreciation by Joel-Peter Witkins. The radical eye of this youthful photographer is one that reflects the perspective of the "new youth" generation, of which he is a part. Many of the photo portraits express man in his peak of physical beauty, capturing erotic images that include some nudity & exploring the borderlines of sexual & social norms. This is an artist who loves to include social commentaries within his work. Furthermore, in reflecting his perspective of birth to death within the confines of this book, Castro displays the innocence of women & men all the way to their potentials as twisted inventive beings. This volume contains portraits of beautiful women, young virile men, & those not so fortunate. A pre-occupation exists within his works, allowing the viewer to have a double exposure at how Castro combines beauty & the beast in one solo portrait. This first portrait photographic chronicling by Castro is to be noted. To order call 1-800-3FINLAND.
