CAE Reading Skills

CAE Reading Skills helps students to develop the general skills necessary for the CAE Paper 1 and, at the same time, familiarizes them with the different task types that they will encounter in this part of the exam. Section A of each unit concentrates on a different Paper 1 exercise format, whereas Section B concentrates on the development of general strategies such as reading for gist. CAE Reading Skills: * introduces students to the different text types and exercise formats that they will meet in the CAE Reading paper * uses authentic texts from a range of sources * has pre-reading and follow-up tasks, so that each text is given a context within the topic of the unit * contains clear Study Tips and Exam Tips boxes that encapsulate the information given in each unit * is written by authors with an in-depth knowledge of the CAE exam * has a key for self-study purposes.
