It argues that by transferring personal experiences into the public sphere, we can better understand otherwise perplexing historical events. Additionally, it traces the evolution of the symbol of conception in Catholic culture and the representation of marriage, from Giotto's depictions to Tiepolo's portrayal of the solitary mother.
