Nine Worlds of Seid-Magic

Focusing on Northern European shamanistic practice, this study delves into seidr and its roots in ancient Norse belief systems as depicted in the Icelandic Sagas and Eddas. It highlights the rediscovery and reinvention of these practices by modern groups in Europe and North America. The author, a practitioner of seidr, explores altered states of consciousness and the connections between seid-workers and their spirit worlds, while also examining contemporary communities seeking spiritual meaning in a postmodern context.
