More about the book

In 1954, the Swedish government initiated the construction of the world's largest particle accelerator, completed in 1969 beneath the pastoral Mälaröarna countryside. Locally known as The Loop, this technological marvel inspired acclaimed sci-fi artist Simon Stålenhag, whose paintings of 1980s Swedish suburbia filled with fantastic machines and strange creatures have gained immense popularity online. Stålenhag’s unique portrayal of childhood, set against a backdrop of old Volvo cars and mystical machines, creates an atmosphere that is both familiar and surreal. For the first time, you can immerse yourself in the captivating world of the Loop through a beautifully printed RPG book. This game marks our third international RPG, following the success of Mutant: Year Zero and Coriolis - The Third Horizon. Lead writer Nils Hintze, alongside the Free League team, will oversee project management, editing, and graphic design. Award-winning author Matt Forbeck will contribute additional writing, including an alternative US campaign setting. The game features artwork by Stålenhag, primarily drawn from the Tales from the Loop artbook, with some new original pieces, including the cover image.
