I hope this book inspires you to act and fulfill your vision, whether that means starting a billion-dollar unicorn, initiating a revolution, or understanding that change starts with you. You can be a Startup Hero, driving progress in your community or beyond. This book serves as your first step toward that goal. Each step will be unique; it may involve calling a customer, creating a design, or discussing ideas with your boss. My aim is to encourage big thinking, drive change, and propel you forward. I provide a pledge to work for good and essential tools to achieve your ambitions. This book is challenging, filled with activities, questions, stories, and even puzzles that engage both sides of your brain. The activities may be difficult or even embarrassing, while the questions are designed to provoke thought. The stories serve as examples of what I term Startup Heroism. With 30 years of experience supporting entrepreneurs, I've tested these concepts at Draper University, where students from over 60 countries have launched over 300 companies. I wrote this book to share insights that could inspire others, maybe even you, to create meaningful change in the world or enhance their lives. So, I urge you to read, try, and engage with this book.
