Friedermann Derschmidt created Permanent Breakfast in 1996 in Vienna. It was an ongoing project that functioned as a chain game. One person invited four people to enjoy a public breakfast. The invited people then invited four others. Permanent Breakfast events have also taken place in Graz, Prague, Berlin, Oslo, New York and Melbourne. The last "official" Permanent Breakfast took place in Vienna in 2006.
