Das ehemalige fürstäbtliche Stadtschloss (heute städtisch) aus der Renaissance wurde 1707-34 von Johann Dientzenhofer barock ausgebaut. Prunkstücke der Innenausstattung sind der Kaisersaal („sala terrena“) und das Spiegelkabinett (1758). Nach Entwurf des Mainzer Architekten Maximilian von Welsch entstand die gegenüber liegende Orangerie 1722/30.
