In his works Stefan Heyne casts doubt on photography as an objective ­representation of reality. His photos raise questions about how what we see may be influenced by perceptual psychology, about how we learn to read images, about the relationship between painting and photography – in about how we perceive a picture. He employs blurriness as a creative tool, calling into question the reality of the objects he portrays in his images. Objects of daily life thus become objects of contemplation.
