In our computer-driven era, information technology has significantly transformed healthcare systems, presenting challenges for professionals unprepared to navigate the complexity of data. This evolution necessitates new skills and innovative approaches to medical knowledge. Addressing the challenge of selecting and assessing relevant information requires collaboration across various healthcare disciplines and data sciences. The proceedings from the 62nd annual meeting of the German Association of Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS 2017): Visions and Bridges, held in Oldenburg, Germany, in September 2017, are compiled here.
