More about the book

Ric Steininger's passion for photography began in his youth, fueled by a sense of adventure and a love for light. Inspired by the grandeur of nature, he traveled extensively to capture unique scenes, aiming to showcase what he called "painted by Nature." Based in Canberra, Australia, he enjoyed a successful career as a freelance photographer. However, his desire for artistic expression led him to explore panoramic photography. In 1991, he began using a 6x17cm film panoramic camera, a simple, battery-free device requiring masterful technical skill to operate in diverse environments. As a self-taught photographer, Ric honed his craft through hands-on experience and a small book on photographic techniques, treating his expeditions as a form of education. After five years of dedicated shooting with the panoramic camera, he held his first exhibition in January 1997 at the Sheraton Mirage in Port Douglas, Australia, which was well-received. By May 1997, he opened his first gallery in Cairns, Australia. This collection celebrates his journey as he inaugurates new galleries in Lahaina, Hawaii, and Las Vegas.
