Produced to complement the exhibition of the same name mounted at the National Collection of Fine Arts during the year of the Bicentennial of the American Revolution. The works were chosen from all parts of the country. This study is in no sense a survey of established artistic highlights of American art. It concentrates on works and aspects of art in America that are less well known.
