More about the book

This publication supports two traveling exhibitions presented in six European countries from 2016 to 2017: an indoor exhibition catalogue featuring a selection of significant works by 100 women in architecture and design from 1918 to 2018, and an outdoor exhibition titled “Women’s Tale. A Reportage on Women Designers.” The catalogue showcases representative examples of European architecture and design, symbolically highlighting the number 'one hundred' as a representation of countless contributions. Each work has a different author, reflecting MoMoWo’s aim to promote a diverse range of creators, including lesser-known figures. It includes biographies of women architects, civil engineers, furniture and industrial designers, urban planners, and landscape designers from 26 countries, covering major trends and schools across Europe. Biographical data includes education, professional histories, networks, and how women have showcased their work through exhibitions and publications. The catalogue features thirteen thematic essays on women architects and designers, alongside the outdoor exhibition catalogue, which presents photographs by ten finalists from the MoMoWo Photo competition. The primary goal is to raise awareness of women's substantial contributions to architecture and design over the past century.
