This text is a companion volume to Bubblecars and Microcars Colour Family Album, 1994. In the difficult postwar years, these microcars were meant to fill the gap between expensive, full sized real cars, scooters and motorcycles. Some of these microcars - such as the BMW 600 - were a commercial success, whilst others struggled to reach double-figure production. Some were crafted using first-class engineering skills; others owed their existence more to enthusiasm than anything else. Regardless, all are now collectable and lovingly restored by their owners.
