Amands's Review posted "This is a pretty typical account of costume design during the Classical Era of Hollywood and while there are some interesting explanations about designing for black and white versus color and the limitations of early Technicolor, much of the book is anecdotal and while sometimes entertaining, not very informative if you're looking to understand how the industry works. It also suffers from that common limitation of insisting that nothing good came out of Hollywood after the Paramount decision of 1948, with only a few exceptions. Nice pictures, however. "
