      Focusing on the development of a low-cost LIDAR system, this work addresses the challenges faced by autonomous agents in navigation due to the high expense of commercial laser scanners. It details the design of an accessible optical setup, electronics, controller, and software aimed at creating a laser scanner for environment scanning and obstacle detection in drones. A prototype is constructed to validate the design, with performance evaluated based on range, precision, spatial resolution, and scan rate, ensuring simplicity and the use of readily available components.
