This collection of works by the Surrealist and their precursors, features artists from Goya; Klinger and Redon, to Dali; Magritte and Ernst. The display opened under the title 'Surreal Worlds' and along with the Berggruen Musem (Picasso and his Times), forms a new centre for classical modern art in the capital, Berlin. The 'Scharf-Gerstenberg Collection' exhibits the holdings of the Dieter Scharf Collection, a foundation created in memory of Otto Gerstenberg, the original patron of this collection.
