Alfonso López Michelsen was a Colombian politician, lawyer, and journalist. He served as the President of Colombia from 1974 to 1978. His father, Alfonso López Pumarejo, also held the presidency of Colombia from 1934 to 1938, and again from 1942 to 1945. He passed away in Bogotá on July 11, 2007, due to a heart attack.
