Patricia Urquiola wurde 1961 in Oviedo, Spanien geboren. Nach ihrem Designstudium leitete sie unter anderem einige Jahre die Design-Abteilung von Piero Lissoni, bis sie 2001 ihr eigenes Studio in Mailand eröffnete. Heute arbeitet sie mit namhaften Herstellern wie zum Beispiel Moroso, Cappellini, Kartell, Alessi und Boffi.
