François Quesnay

    June 4, 1694 – December 16, 1774

François Quesnay, a physician and economist, emerged as a foundational figure of the Physiocrats. His seminal work, 'Tableau économique,' laid intellectual groundwork for the movement and profoundly influenced subsequent economic thought, notably that of Adam Smith. Beyond his contributions to economic theory, Quesnay was also a distinguished scholar of Eastern cultures, particularly Chinese politics and society.
