Aaron Stephan Hamilton has dedicated twenty-five years to researching and analyzing the final year of military conflict during World War II in Europe. His work meticulously examines primary documents concerning the last year of fighting along the Eastern Front, a period and region often overlooked by Western scholars. Hamilton's multi-volume history of the Oder Front 1945 formed the basis for the U.S. Army Europe's first Staff Ride and Battle Book on the Battle of the Seelow Heights. In the last five years, his focus has shifted from land combat to naval operations, particularly the concluding year of the Battle of the Atlantic and its foreshadowing of undersea warfare.
