Focusing on the intricacies of strategy implementation, this book highlights the challenges firms face in executing their strategies effectively. It identifies eleven critical factors influencing implementation and emphasizes that varying strategies require distinct skills. Based on a study of 175 executives from medium and large Austrian firms, the findings reveal that while prospectors and analyzers must align their implementation factors with their strategies, defender firms show no correlation between alignment and performance. Additionally, underemphasizing implementation factors negatively affects performance, while overdoing them does not significantly impact outcomes.
