Set in 1960s Brighton, the story follows Michael Burgess, an undergraduate grappling with his disjointed experiences of love and relationships. As he approaches graduation, he finds solace in rock 'n' roll, viewing songs as pivotal moments in his life. His focus shifts when he becomes infatuated with a girl from the library, intensifying his emotional turmoil upon learning of her connection to a lecturer. Amidst his inner conflict, he also faces distractions from a questionable agent promoting his emerging rock band.
