The EC did not succeed in maintaining the industrial activities reserved by the Chinese. The financial and industrial superiority of the Asians is relentlessly carried through and is already undermining our financial basis. The growth of the Gross National Product is no longer a suitable means of orientation. In his book, the Author is trying to replace the Gross National Product by Gross National Happiness. Striving towards happiness could replace the strive for economic growth. With this attitude, the diminishing resources of our planet would be safeguarded and mankind would regard happiness as the measure of all things.
