The textbook bridges the gap between the neurosciences (neurobiology, neurology) and psychosciences (psychology, psychiatry, psychotherapy), aiming to present essential, scientifically validated knowledge in an accessible manner. The relationship between mental experiences and brain processes has long been enigmatic. This work demonstrates that these domains form an inseparable unity, despite differing methods of study and experience. It articulates this unity through psychological-neurobiological theory and psychiatric-psychotherapeutic practice. Key topics include neurobiological excitation, information processing, the limbic system's structure and function, personality development, and the interplay of genetic-epigenetic factors with prenatal and postnatal environmental influences, both positive and negative.
