Zachariáš Ursinus

    Zacharias Ursinus was a leading German Reformed theologian of the sixteenth century. He became a principal figure in the Reformed Protestant movement in the Palatinate, contributing significantly to both the University of Heidelberg and the College of Wisdom. Ursinus is most recognized as the primary author and interpreter of the Heidelberg Catechism. His theological insights profoundly shaped the trajectory of Reformed Protestant thought.

      I tento starý reformační katechismus má své dějiny. Jeho sepsáním pověřil kurfiřt Bedřich III. dva bohoslovce, Zachariáše Ursina (1534-1583) a Kašpara Oleviana (1536-1587). Katechismus se původně jmenoval "Katechismus nebo křesťanské učení"; protože byl původně vydán v Heidelberku, (19. ledna 1563) dostalo se mu jména Heidelberský katechismus, pod nímž je znám v celém světě...
