Lesley Fairfield focuses on the complex themes of body image and eating disorders, drawing from her personal thirty-year struggle with anorexia and bulimia. Her illustration work, which began at the Ontario College of Art and Design, graces many children's books. Fairfield explores these sensitive issues through her illustrations, as well as through essays and articles that have appeared in publications such as "Dance in Canada" magazine and York University's International Women's Studies Journal.
