Franz Xaver Roth is the pseudonym of a Munich-based bibliophile who, with a wonderfully light touch, portrays the Bavarian province, incidentally crafting suspenseful and richly realistic crime novels. Roth himself resides in a village resembling Leuterding, just outside Munich.
