Henrik Arnold Wergeland

Henrik Arnold Wergeland was a Norwegian author, public intellectual, newspaper editor, and chief archivist. As a writer, he was extremely prolific across a wide range of genres, though he became renowned for his romantic poetry. Wergeland is also recognized for his strong commitment to national popular enlightenment and as an advocate for the Jewish cause in Norway.
