Isobel Kuhn dedicated her life's work primarily to the Lisu people in the border regions of China and Burma, as well as in northern Thailand. Her writing offers a personal and vivid account of challenging missionary work and divine guidance amidst difficulties. Kuhn explored her own inner journey, moving from a Christian upbringing to agnosticism and attempting to fill a void with secular pursuits like dancing and theater. Experiencing profound emptiness led her to question God's existence and seek a genuine relationship with Him, ultimately guiding her to her calling as an evangelist. Her narrative focuses on this spiritual quest and her eventual service among the Lisu, illustrating a transformation from doubt to purpose.
Isobel Miller gave up God for worldly pursuits. But as graduation approached and her engagement was broken, she questioned that decision. ‘If You will prove to me that You are, and if You will give me peace, I will give You my whole life.’ God heard Isobel's prayers and responded. He reached out to her, ending years of searching, and building her up for decades of fruitful missionary service with her husband, John Kuhn, in China.
