Růžena Dostálová Biography
April 22, 1924 – August 18, 2014
This author was a leading Czech philologist, historian, and literary historian specializing in Byzantinology. Her academic career included studies in classical philology and Modern Greek, defending her dissertation, and earning PhDr. and CSc. degrees. She had a long tenure at the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, where she led the Department of Byzantine Studies, and lectured externally at prominent Czech universities. Her extensive work comprises numerous scholarly publications and translations, significantly contributing to research in Byzantinology and classical philology.
